Dear diary,
I am going through my teething phase, and I have a craving to bite everything in my reach.
Mama has got me plenty of chewy toys, but lately, my chewiness has become intense and gone beyond toys.
There is this urge in me to chew whatever comes in my way – clothes, slippers, furniture, foot rugs, dustbins, brooms, etc.
I am biting on objects I shouldn’t, but mama understands that I am at the peak of my teething stage, and so, she takes good care of me.
Mama told me how my milk teeth would fall out and adult teeth would grow in, and it’s all happening the way mama had informed me.
Few weeks ago, she already told me about this time where I would experience pain and discomfort that can lead to some destructive and unhealthy behaviours.
So, she keeps me away from biting certain things like stones, rocks, and similar things that can hurt my teeth and harm me.
Now, I am an adorable little monster, who listens to mama every time when she tells me not to chew something.
When I am out of control, madly chewing on something that I shouldn’t, she replaces the thing with my chew-stick or my favourite toy.
The full teething process will last about 4-6 months in total, and mama has already handled me so well.
Mama takes all required steps to reduce my pain and discomfort, and to deal with the temporary destructive behaviour.
All she does is to allow me to chew, as chewing is one of the best ways to relieve the teething discomfort.
Mama and I are enjoying this natural stage of development together.
This is baby Hyena signing-off, chewing on mama’s old slippers.
See you tomorrow again! Bye-bye! 🐾
